CASE STUDY: QA Checkweigher

The Problem: QA Checkweigh Needed to Catch Missing Items
A major manufacturer of condensed milk wanted to install an in line continuous checkweigher system for their manufacturing facility. The system needed to be made at a very low custom height.
The Solution: In Line Continuous Checkweigher
CASI proposed using our 951 in line checkweigher to perform the in motion continuous checkweigh operation and interlink with the customer’s existing conveyor controls.
System Overview

Full cases of milk cans are transported to the checkweigher on the existing transport conveyor from the case packer.

After the items round an existing curve, the cartons enter the checkweigher zone where they are weighed.
After the carton has been weighed, the case is transported off the scale and on to the wrapping machine. Exceptions are diverted to a manual QA line.
Benefits from the new efficiencies
The benefits from the new system include reduced errors, labor and automatic QA inspection of the product.
