CASE STUDY: Over/Under Checkweigher

The Problem: Over/Under Conveyor Scales Needed to Catch Missing Items
As part of a new retail distribution center, CASI was contracted to provide in motion over / under scales to automatically identify cartons with missing items by weight.
The Solution: Over/Under/Accept In Line Scale
CASI supplied the 961 over / under / accept conveyor scale for the application.
Checkweigh System Overview

As cartons travel out of the pick module, they are scanned by a customer supplied scanning array. This identifies the order for the carton.

Cartons stage in zero pressure accumulation before the gapping belt.
A metering belt properly spaces the cartons to ensure one carton is on the scale at a time.

The carton is weighed as it travels across the scale. The actual weight is compared to the expected and an output provided for pass or fail.

The benefits from the new system include reduced errors, labor, and automatic QA inspection of the product.
