CRUZcontrol Accumulation Logic
Key Benefits: Reliable, Great Value,Sense any Weight Product

CRUZcontrol is TGW-ERMANCO’S newest accumulation logic package. It utilizes a simple electronic sensor control system providing features that accommodate all accumulation control requirements. This cost-effective logic package can be used with a variety of TGW-ERMANCO technologies. It is a standard feature of NBA®23 and is frequently combined with XenoPRESSURE®. Electronic sensors eliminate product weight restrictions and noise associated with mechanical sensors. Each accumulation zone includes one CRUZcontrol logic assembly consisting of a photo-electric sensor, solenoid valve, logic module and interconnection cable, all installed at the factory.
The miniature photo-electric sensor is polarized and is not affected by shiny surfaces. The sensor swivel mount facilitates easy alignment. The sensor includes an LED function indicator to aid in its adjustment. This LED is visible through an opening in the top of the CRUZchannel to assist in maintenance and commissioning. The solenoid valve controls airflow to the pneumatic actuators as directed by the logic module. Air pressure and consumption is minimal, reducing operating costs.
The nerve center of the accumulation logic package is the logic module, which provides the electrical signal or output to the pneumatic valve that controls the accumulation and release functions. CRUZcontrol is provided as either Basic Logic or Progressive Logic. In Basic Logic/Accumulation, as products are being transported on the conveyor, they are separated by a gap of one zone length. As accumulation is initiated and two successive sensors are blocked, the trailing zone is set to accumulate. For Basic Logic/Discharge, products are released as the downstream sensor is cleared. This creates a gap of one zone length between products and will affect the release rate. However, with the addition of a zone interface module, the configuration can be changed to train discharge, releasing all zones at the same time, resulting in no gaps or minimal gaps between products, and maximum release rate.
In Progressive Logic/Accumulation, close-packed and individual products maintain their spacing as they travel down the conveyor until they accumulate at the farthest downstream open zone and then stop. High carton density is achieved. For Progressive Logic/Discharge, all zones release at the same time, resulting in no gaps or minimal gaps, similar to basic train release.
To enhance any system, Zone Function Modules can be used to provide control features such as zone release, zone interrupt, train release, release delay timer or zone status. These modules can also be added in the field using quick connect cables. A terminal strip is provided for the connection of external wiring, often eliminating the need to add an additional wiring junction box. Power supplies are available in either 115 volts AC single-phase or 460-480 volts AC three-phase, to provide the 24 volts DC power required for maximum flexibility. Up to 50 modules can be powered with only one power supply.
All TGW-ERMANCO technologies that utilize CRUZcontrol are shipped from our factory totally assembled and tested. When utilized with our CRUZchannel, the components are completely protected during shipment and installation. No component assembly is required at the installation site. No more bolting on photoeye brackets and reflector brackets. No more field wiring of sensors. The electronic sensing and control logic are built-in, not added on at installation. This is, by far, the best value solution for accumulation applications.
