Cross Dock Conveyor Systems

Cross docking is the process of moving material from the receiving dock to the shipping dock accomplished by bypassing storage. Cross docking reduces inventory carrying costs, transportation costs, and costs associated with order fulfillment and material handling. CASI ‘s cross dock conveyor systems offer low cost and reliable performance. Typical systems include TransMaster 24V ZPA conveyor matched with proper sorters such as our SM100 bi-directional case sorter.
Automated conveyors are crucial for cross-docking solutions. A cross-docking system typically consists of conveyors for both receiving and sorting cases. Fixed position barcode scanners read an identification code on each case to track the product through the system and, based on information from a WMS or an order system, the system automatically sorts the cases to trucks or pallets for shipping.
Crossdock System Benefits:
- Streamlines the supply chain from point of origin to point of sale
- Products get to the distributor and consequently to the customer faster
- Reduces or eliminates warehousing, handling, and holding costs
- Often increases available retail sales space
