System Overview

Many companies today are improving the efficiency of their operation by using cross dock operations rather than keeping "just in case" stock.  These cross dock operations bring in cartons from vendors and immediately send as many as required out to waiting trucks for direct store delivery.

Operation of the SolidLabel™ Cross dock inline labeling system begins when the in bound barcode scanner reads the license plate barcode from the carton. A lookup is performed using SolidComm™ and the shipping label is applied to the top of the carton. The carton is then routed to the appropriate dock store completing the operation using an automatic carton routing and sortation system like SolidRoute™.
