Most of the major retailers today require incoming shipments from vendors to contain labels per their strict specifications. This process known as compliance labeling, provides many benefits to the retailer by eliminating steps in the receiving, shipping and order confirmation process. For the supplier this causes many potential problems including purchasing compliance labeling systems or paying non-compliance fees. Using the CASI CD-160 ensures proper carton placement and stability so compliance labels are 100% consistently placed and readable. Typical rates are up to 20 cartons per minute on a single line. The CD-160 also handles random size boxes and conquers the problems associated with labeling skewed boxes on a conveyor.

How it works

Cartons stage on the TransMaster™ zone control conveyor prior to being scanned. Each carton is scanned and a lookup performed using SolidComm™ obtaining the compliance label information.

• The carton approaches the automatic print and apply.
• A blade stop moves up to freeze the carton
• The carton is cornered to ensure proper label placement.
• Once this is done, the label is applied.

After the label is applied, the barcode is scanned to ensure proper label placement and readability. SolidLabel™ can use either Barcode scanners or RF Tag readers for product Identification.
