Electrical Controls Engineer

Role Summary

This role is responsible for designing and developing the electrical design and the system programming for automated industrial equipment. This role is also responsible for assisting in managing project designs that satisfy sales scope, coordinating responsibilities, and managing costs of assigned projects. Projects consist primarily of material handling systems and custom automation systems. Strong distribution conveyor experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate larger, more complex projects to ensure all electrical design aspects are completed accurately and according to schedule.
  • Responsible for complete system electrical hardware design and PLC software development.
  • Develop physical layout of system, control panels, control stations, schematics, air diagrams, and prepare description of operation with operator responsibilities defined.
  • Development of PLC programs, HMI programs, and interface software. Includes writing and debugging of programs.
  • On-Site system start-up of systems at customer’s facility.
  • Distribution material handling controls design is a strong plus.

Qualifying Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering BSEE, BSEET, or equivalent education and experience
  • Designing electrical systems for automated equipment
  • Engineering principles
  • Strong drawing package generation skills
  • PLC Programming
  • AutoCad experience is a must
