Batch Picking System

batch picking

Batch picking is effective and relatively inexpensive to implement. Batch picking is defined as picking multiple items in a single run to fulfill multiple orders. Typically a picker will use a cart with multiple cartons or totes for multiple orders. The picker is then able to fulfill more picks on a single trip to one bin or multiple bins in the same area.

CASI uses SolidPick to interface voice picking systems and can assist in flow design or redesign a reasonably low cost picking system for your environment and unique business needs. Picking orders without a system in place can be quite cumbersome in terms of efficiency and indirect cost. As much as 60% of picking time is related to travel; whether it is walking or using a forklift to pick orders. Batch picking is one method of reducing wasted travel time.

Order picking in batches is most efficient in split case picking environments, small item picking, and may also be adapted into a full case pick scenario.

Batch picking systems from CASI are designed to meet the customers requirements for high performance, modularity, reliability and flexibility. Our pre-engineered approach to systems guarantees your implementation will be smooth.
